CONFERENCE PARK
 

All accommodation is here and room key allocation
is at the Rootes Social Building.

Check-In is at any time after 3.00 pm. on Saturday.

Your name badge must be collected from the URC Reception Desk in this area and must be worn at all times.

Rooms must be vacated by 09.30am on the day of departure.

On Tuesday morning luggage may not be left in your room after 9.30am, but may be left at the Left Luggage in the Rootes Social Building until you are ready to depart.

THE ROOTES SOCIAL BUILDING
 

The building is open 7.00am to 11.00pm. It is locked overnight, but security is on duty at all times in case of emergency dial 22222 from any internal telephone.

ARTS CENTRE
 

THE URC INFORMATION DESK is situated in the Foyer. They will deal with your queries, replace missing papers and provide you with local information. They will act as the primary source for giving and receiving messages. Tel: 02476 523732

Please contact the Stewards if you require email facilities, headphones for the hearing system or assistance with mobility needs

THE URC GENERAL OFFICE is situated in the National Grid Room upstairs in the Arts Centre. Enquiries relating to the business sessions or for the platform party should be made here. If you have stamps for the CWM Stamp Bureau, they should be brought here.

BOOKSTALL AND DISPLAYS will be found in the Arts Centre Gallery. The bookstall will be open:

Saturday                               1.30pm - 8.00pm
Sunday                                 8.30am - 8.30pm
Monday                                 8.30am - 7.00pm
Tuesday                               8.30am - 10.30am

LIGHT REFRESHMENTS AND SITTING-OUT AREA are available in the Arts Centre Foyer FAIRTRADE and organic products are available in the Gallery.

ECUMENICAL AND OVERSEAS GUESTS have the use of the Arts Centre Studio throughout Assembly.
 

BUTTERWORTH HALL
 

All plenary sessions of Assembly will take place here. A Sennheiser infa-red hearing system is in operation and headphones may be obtained from the URC Information Desk in the Arts Centre foyer before each session and must be returned at the end of the day so that they can be charged overnight.

Drinking water is available at various points.

A QUIET ROOM has been set aside in the Butterworth Hall Dressing Room for URC use throughout the Assembly. Please feel free to use it. There is also a Chaplaincy Centre available on the site, which you are welcome to use at any time (a Roman Catholic Mass is held there at 12.30pm each day).
 

ROOTES BUILDING
 

BAR FACILITIES. A licensed bar and sitting-out area is available here each day during normal opening hours 12 noon to 11 pm. A bar will also be open in the Arts Centre from the close of the evening Assembly session until 11 pm.

SPECIAL INTEREST MEETINGS will be signposted within this building.
 

GENERAL FACILITIES ON CAMPUS
 

FACILITIES at the University include a bookshop, pharmacy, cinema, hairdresser, newsagent, Post Office, supermarket and a launderette.

A GIFT SHOP (SOZO) is located in the heart of The Arts Centre, selling a diverse Range of gifts from the functional to the decorative. SOZO is open from 11.00am - 6.30pm, Monday - Friday.

There are Natwest, HSBC and Barclays BANKS on campus with cash dispensers. These can be found in the mall area around Rootes Social Building. There are also Link and Lloyds cash dispensers. You are advised to bring some cash for drinks and other sundry items as individual room accounts cannot be set up.

SPORTS FACILITIES are available to delegates free of charge. These include indoor heated swimming pool, squash courts, well equipped gymnasium and outside tennis courts. Squash and tennis courts can be booked at the Sports Centre Reception (Ext 23011).

Monday to Friday                       7.15am - 9.30pm
Saturday                                  7.15am - 9.30pm
Sunday                                    8.00am - 7.30pm

EMERGENCY SERVICES AND FIRE PROCEDURES
 

For help in an emergency dial 22222 from any internal telephone and your call will be directed appropriately. Visitors are asked to familiarise themselves with the University's fire procedures which are displayed in each bedroom.

On discovering a fire in other buildings:

Raise the alarm by breaking the glass in the nearest Break Glass Point.

On hearing the continuous ringing of fire bells: Stop what you are doing

Leave by the nearest Fire Exit

Walk calmly, do not run

Do not stop to collect personal belongings

Make your way to the nearest evacuation point,

standing well clear of the building.

Do not re-enter the building until told to do so by the Fire Service or University Security Staff.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
 

First Aid is available through the URC Information Desk (Tel: 02476 523732). The University Health Centre is open Monday to Friday, 9.00am - 1.00pm and 2.00pm - 5.00pm. Visitors in need of emergency assistance outside these hours should contact Security on internal extension 22222.

REPORTING INCIDENTS
 

In the unlikely event of an accident or other incident occurring on 'University premises, please report immediately to Rootes Reception (Ext. 22280) who

will then take appropriate action. Please dial 22222 from an internal phone, or 024 7652 2222 externally to be in direct contact with our 24 hour security staff.
